☕️ Short-term focus doesn’t build more wealth (Here’s what does)
Sep 11, 2026Howdy! 👋
Twenty-five years ago today our world changed.
While many investors today don’t connect the dots because it was “so long ago” or something that they’ve read about in the history books, it’s like yesterday for me.
I still miss the friends and colleagues I knew back then but take comfort that their memory lives on in every decision we make to build something better, to invest not just in markets but in each other, and to never take a single ordinary day for granted.
So let’s take a moment … to remember that we are all more alike than we are different, that we share hopes, dreams and aspirations, that we put our shoes on the same way.
Speaking of which…
I’m glad to see some green on the futures screen after four nasty days of worry-driven selling.
I trust you are, too.
Traders are setting up for the CPI report, for lower oil and – as hard as it is to contemplate – a calmer world ahead. Like us, they know that they can’t afford not to be on board if the markets take off so there’s a decidedly focused method to the madness that is as elegant as it is simple.
Buy the best, ignore the rest.®
I don’t know if the early “bid” – meaning buying that I saw a little while ago when I took to the air for a conversation with the fabulous Cheryl Casone – is the market trying to get ahead of today's CPI report, but I think that’s a distinct possibility.
We also talked about AI data centers and the President’s proposed $5,000 dividend. (Watch)
People want to make both a political issue but, respectfully, that’s not the case with either. Or at least it shouldn’t be, imho.
No doubt we’ll talk more about that in the weeks ahead.
Meanwhile, let’s stay focused.
On what?
The stuff that matters…
… like ignoring the noise that’ll hold you and your money back
… like buying great companies capable of powering your wealth for decades
… like playing to win when nearly everyone else is worried about not losing
… like buying when others are selling
Most investors think investing has to be complicated to work, but that’s not true.
I repeatedly urge you to keep it stupid simple.
For one reason.
I believe that there will be more profit potential in the next 10 years than the last 50 combined… and, frankly, I’d hate to see you miss it.
Let that sink in.
Then and as always, MAKE it a great day and a great weekend.
Meanwhile, I’ve got to make a beeline for the airport which is why I’ll leave you with a thought…
Companies that hesitate become footnotes but the ones that lead become empires.
Be sure you own ‘em!
You got this – I promise.
Keith 😀
