☕ Skip the Fed, what to pay attention to instead
Aug 28, 2026Howdy! 👋
My heart skipped a beat when I saw the horrific flash flood in Nepal this week. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone involved. 🙏
As for the markets, the main thing in the headlines this morning is Fed Chair Kevin Warsh’s commentary at Jackson Hole. (Read)
When I first began my career, the rule was don't fight the Fed, but these days it's more like don’t even pay attention to the Fed.
Meetings like this are increasingly like watching the grass grow or paint dry.
If you want fireworks, it's far more entertaining and valuable to watch people like Jensen Huang, Lisa Su, Alex Karp, Elon Musk, and Jamie Dimon – leaders of companies with profit potential no matter what the Fed does next. 🤦♂️
Keith's Investing Tip: Stop trying to trade the Fed's next move. You can't, and honestly, neither can they. If there’s ever a reminder to stay focused, this is it. The world’s best CEOs are focused on making money, no matter what. And, I submit, that’s what WE as investors want to be thinking about too.
With that, my bride and I are going to be screaming across the desert in our Slingshot in 112–115 degree heat with a full centimeter of sunscreen on our face.
People often ask me why I don't just fly – well, the adventure on the open road is much more fun... not to mention the amazed faces of the people we passed along the way.
Bottom Line
Success in the markets doesn’t come from anything you do occasionally.
It comes from what you do consistently.
You got this — I promise.
As always, let’s MAKE it a great day and finish the week strong!
Keith 😀
